Bad Motorcycle Wreck On Joliet's Briggs Street

Saturday afternoon's crash caused a major traffic snag for motorists on Joliet's far east side.

JOLIET, IL - At least one motorcycle rider suffered serious head injuries during a bad wreck on Saturday afternoon at Briggs Street and Fourth Avenue. Will County sheriff's officials told The Joliet Herald-News that the crash involved a motorcycle and a limousine party bus. A Patch reader who lives nearby the scene of the crash said the motorcycle appeared to have been pinned underneath the vehicle.

A sheriff's official told the Joliet newspaper that the motorcycle driver suffered serious head trauma and was rushed by ambulance to the nearby Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. The man's motorcycle passenger suffered a compound leg fracture, according to the Joliet paper. Both motorcyclists were apparently in their fifties.
