Bakers Wanted for Charity Cupcake Challenge

Now Accepting Applications for Professional and Amateur Bakers for Glen Marcum Foundation Fundraiser

Applications are now being accepted for professional and amateur bakers for the inaugural Glen Marcum Foundation Charity Cupcake Challenge. The cupcake fundraiser will take place 1-4 p.m. November 3 at the Local 176 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) hall, 1100 NE Frontage Road in Joliet.

Bakers do not pay an entry fee, but are required to bake a minimum of three dozen cupcakes. Cupcakes will be judged on taste, creativity, and display. The theme for the cupcakes is movie animation. Awards will be awarded in both amateur and professional baker categories. Register online at www.glenmarcum.org/charity-cupcake-challenge/.

Tickets for the family friendly event are $10.00 each and include admission, water, lemonade, coffee and popcorn. Children, 12 years and under, are $5.00 each. Cupcakes may be purchased for $2.00 each, $10.00 for six cupcakes, or $20.00 for a dozen. Sponsorship packages are also available at www.glenmarcum.org/charity-cupcake-challenge/.

The event will raise money for the Glen Marcum Foundation. The Foundation was established in 2017 to commemorate the life and values of Glen Marcum, a lifelong Joliet resident who passed away in 2016. The mission of the Foundation is to continue Glen’s lifelong mission of community service by contributing to Joliet area foundations and organizations.
