BB Gun Incident At Joliet Walmart Leads To Arrest: JPD
Joliet police said Phillip Martinez, 22, and a juvenile victim were inside the business when an argument ensued. Officers arrested Martinez.

JOLIET, IL — A 22-year-old Joliet resident, Phillip Martinez, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct by Joliet police after pulling out his BB gun and racking the slide during an argument with a juvenile in the Walmart, 2424 West Jefferson St., Joliet police reports show.
The incident happened around 9:10 p.m. on Friday. Police were notified of a gun complaint and that's why officers went to the Walmart.
"During the confrontation, Martinez displayed a BB gun, racking the slide and threatening the juvenile," Joliet police reports show. "The juvenile then went to a different area inside the business, and Martinez left the store, placing the BB gun inside a Dodge SUV in the parking lot."

After Martinez re-entered the store to shop, Joliet police found him and took him away in handcuffs. Officers searched his Dodge SUV and the BB gun was confiscated as evidence, according to police spokesman Olin Torkelson.
During questioning at the Joliet police station, "Martinez admitted to racking the BB gun and displaying it toward the juvenile. Martinez was processed and released on I-Bond," Torkelson noted.
