JOLIET, IL — On occasion, motorists around the Joliet area are forced to slow down and hit their brakes for ducks crossing one of the busy roads. But a 10-foot-long snake? Sure enough, a python got loose Monday night along Theodore Street, according to an AM-1340 WJOL news radio report.

WJOL spoke with Joliet police and learned that the python managed to escape from the confines of its owner, who managed to get to the scene to retrieve it.
