BioLife Plasma Services Opens In Joliet This Weekend
The building at the North Ridge Plaza was remodeled for a new plasma center that will open in a smaller portion of the former Ultra Foods.

JOLIET, IL — After several months of renovations to a portion of the former Ultra Foods grocery store, BioLife Plasma Services is opening its new plasma donation center in Joliet at 1590 North Larkin Ave. on Saturday.
"With plasma donations lower than usual through the pandemic and demand for plasma-derived therapies growing worldwide, the need for plasma is more urgent than ever," the company announced in a news release celebrating the new center in Joliet.
The new center in Joliet will help thousands of people who are immunocompromised and rely on medicines developed from plasma, BioLife Plasma Services said.

The new center will bring more than 30 new jobs to Joliet, and it joins five other BioLife centers in the Chicago area in an effort to support the urgent need for plasma, according to Thursday's news release The other locations are in Addison, Bolingbrook, DeKalb, Harwood Heights and Villa Park.
