Blockbuster Video Opens In Joliet City Manager's Office?
City of Joliet employees are participating in a Halloween-themed office decorating contest plus a no-carving pumpkin decorating contest.

JOLIET, IL — If you visit Joliet's City Hall this week, be ready for a treat. The city manager's office has been converted into a Blockbuster video store. Office manager Melissa Lopez and her boss, city manager Jim Capparelli, chose the Blockbuster theme as part of Joliet City Hall's Halloween decorating contest.
At least a half dozen city departments are participating. Public works and public utilities came up with "Hocus Pocus;" human resources-legal department chose "The Addams Family;" the city clerk's office made a haunted mansion; building inspections decorated for "Stranger Things."
Meanwhile, voting is taking place in the City Hall hallway for the no-carved pumpkin decorating contest. So far, at least 100 votes have been cast to determine the best pumpkin. Winners will be announced on Halloween, which is next Monday, according to city staff.
