Body Burnt Beyond Recognition Found in Trunk of Car
The body was found in unincorporated Joliet Township Thursday morning.
Joliet Township, IL — A body was found burnt beyond recognition early Thursday morning in unincorporated Joliet Township.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office was called to the area of Patterson and Brandon roads around midnight for a rented Dodge Charger that was on fire.

After the fire was extinguished, a body was found in the trunk.
“The body was burnt beyond recognition and at this point it is not known if the victim is male or female,” police said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident and asks that anyone who may have seen or heard something in that area around midnight to contact the Will County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division at 816-727-8574
