Brandon Road Bridge Out, May Last Long Time

ROCKDALE, IL — The Rockdale Police Department wants Joliet area motorists to realize that the Brandon Road Bridge is malfunctioning and the bridge may not be ready to open until mid to late November. The center lock on the bridge is malfunctioning, according to police.

The Illinois Department of Transportation issued a statement indicating the repairs should be fixed in two weeks, but the Rockdale Police Department is highly skeptical.

"Although IDOT has indicated a current two-week time frame, we have received reliable information that one month or two months is more likely. We will update as we learn more," Rockdale Police advised.
