JOLIET, IL — Rescue crews from Joliet Fire Department Station 5 extricated a man on Sunday night after his car collided with a porch near the 900 block of North Broadway Street. The man's car flipped several times and left a trail of broken vehicle parts along the road. Fortunately, the man did not suffer serious injuries, the fire department announced on Facebook.

According to the fire department's Local 44, the crash scene spanned nearly 500 feet and the engine from the car was found nearly 100 feet from the scene of the wreck.

"Fortunately the driver walked away from this accident and did not receive any medical treatment," Local 44 firefighters informed their social media followers.
