Broadway Street Shooting: Gunman Runs Away
Joliet Patch was the only news outlet reporting on Thursday afternoon's criminal investigation at the old Evergreen Terrace property.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police blocked off a section of Broadway Street from Jackson Street to Cass Street on Thursday afternoon as several police officers and crime scene technicians investigated a shooting near the old Evergreen Terrace public housing complex.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:
At 3:22 p.m., officers responded to Riverwalk Homes, 358 North Broadway St. for gunshots fired. There had been a disturbance at the property in the parking lot.

During this disturbance, an unidentified man began firing multiple rounds from a handgun in the direction of the apartment buildings before running away.
The rear of an unoccupied vehicle parked on North Broadway Street was struck by gunfire. Officers were unable to locate any victims or other property that had been struck.
