Buell Ave. Heroin, Cocaine Dealer Taken Into Custody: JPD

Joliet Police Department's Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a house in the 400 block of Buell Avenue following its investigation.

JOLIET, IL — A 35-year-old Joliet woman, Lorraine Edwards, who has been dealing cocaine and heroin from her house in the 400 block of Buell Avenue, on Joliet's west side near Western Avenue, was taken away in handcuffs on Wednesday as were two more people at the house.

Joliet police say Edwards was arrested and given a Notice to Appear on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. However, Edwards was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for having an outstanding Will County Arrest Warrant.

As for the other two, 36-year-old Melvin Ammons was booked into the Will County Jail for having an outstanding Will County Arrest Warrant, just like Edwards.

A third person at the Buell Avenue house, 34-year-old Romeoville resident Julio Torres was also added to the Will County Jail for having his own Will County Arrest Warrant.

At t 3:30 p.m.,, the Joliet Police Department Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Buell Avenue following a narcotics investigation. Officers recovered suspected cocaine and heroin following a search of the house.

Edwards was on the scene and was taken into custody. Edwards held an active Will County arrest warrant for missing court on previous charges of aggravated Battery.

Torres and Ammons were both taken into custody at the residence for active Will County arrest warrants for missing court on charges of Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property, respectively.
