FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ThrifTea to Celebrate Grand Opening with Spooky Fun and a Community-Focused Costume Tea Party on October 28

New venture brings tea, connection, and thrifting together in a festive Halloween-season celebration

Lockport, IL  — October 14, 2026 — ThrifTea invites the community to celebrate its Grand Opening on Wednesday, October 28, with a festive Costume Tea Party designed to bring people together for a unique experience centered on connection, community, and purpose.

Combining the fun of Halloween with the warmth of a welcoming space for shopping and gathering, ThrifTea's Grand Opening will invite guests to embrace the spooky season, wear their favorite costumes, and join in celebrating the launch of a venture with a mission beyond the cup.

More than a place to enjoy a cup of tea while you shop, ThrifTea is part of a broader vision connected to The Refuge Mental Health Counseling and its commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community.  ThrifTea Incorporated exists to help support access to mental health counseling services for uninsured or financially underserved individuals seeking therapeutic care. Through its community-focused approach, ThrifTea aims to create opportunities for connection while helping advance a mission rooted in support, compassion, and well-being.

“The opening of ThrifTea represents an exciting opportunity to bring people together around something we can all appreciate: a welcoming space, thrifted treasures, and a shared sense of community,” said Candice Quinerly, Communications Specialist. “We're looking forward to celebrating this milestone with our community and sharing the heart behind what we've been building.”

The Costume Tea Party theme adds a playful twist to the occasion, encouraging guests to participate in the Halloween spirit while discovering what makes ThrifTea unique. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume and bring friends and family to join the celebration.

The Grand Opening will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 12 p.m. until 8 p.m., at 123 E. 9th Street in Downtown Lockport. The Lockport Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. Additional event details will be shared through ThrifTea's social media channels.

Community members, local organizations, and members of the media are invited to join in celebrating this new chapter and learning more about ThrifTea's mission and its connection to The Refuge.
