The Cancer Support Center hosts Kids Cooking Club

A Nutrition Cooking Demo Designed for Children affected by cancer.

On Monday, August 10, 2015, The Cancer Support Center will host a Kids Cooking Club at its Mokena location, 19657 S. LaGrange Road. This fun, interactive cooking class will teach kids, ages 6 to 12, how to make summertime nutritional treats. All children affected by cancer are welcome to attend, offered at no charge. Join Nutrition and Wellness Coordinator, Chris Rosandich, for a fun, nutritional experience. This class will cover how to incorporate fresh, healthy foods into your daily-diet.

The Cancer Support Center is here to provide support and education to minimize distress and create an environment for families to relax and take comfort, during their cancer journey. The Family and Children program has the following options available to the parents, the children or the entire family unit.

The Cancer Support Center provides comprehensive, and counseling programs that are delivered by professionals always offered at no charge. In 2014, The Center provided more than 10,700 hours of programming and more than 300 free wigs, scarves and hats to women who were losing their hair due to chemotherapy, demonstrating the need in its communities. Offices are located in Homewood, 2028 Elm Road, and Mokena, 19657 S. LaGrange Road, and the programs are also facilitated at several hospitals and cancer centers in the southland communities. The Center is able to provide these resources to anyone living with cancer, at no charge, because of the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organizations.
