Joliet Man, 40, Dies In Wreck Along Route 6: Police

A half dozen Joliet police cars were on the scene of Wednesday afternoon's crash along Route 6.

JOLIET, IL — A 40-year-old Joliet man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a one-car crash along Route 6, Joliet police announced.

The Will County Coroner’s Office identified the crash victim as Timothy D. Harris.

The Joliet resident was westbound on Channahon Road, which is also Route 6, at which time his vehicle struck a median, left the roadway to the south and struck a tree, Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English said.

Harris was taken by Joliet Fire Department ambulance to St. Joe's hospital where he was pronounced deceased. This crash is under investigation by the Joliet Police Traffic Unit, English said.
