Chicago Carjacker Guilty In Joliet Of 13 Crimes: Judge
On Feb. 23, 2022, Jordan Henry crashed into a ditch along I-55 near I-80. He was captured in Will County and remained in jail ever since.

JOLIET, IL — On Friday morning, 29-year-old carjacker Jordan Henry of Harvey was found guilty of 13 criminal charges following his Will County bench trial before Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak.
Henry stood trial this week for the carjacking of a car in Chicago nearly one year ago. Last Feb. 23, Henry led dozens of Illinois State Police on a high-speed chase topping more than 100 mph. The chase ended near Shorewood when Henry crashed the stolen car into a ditch along I-55 near I-80.
Henry has remained in the Will County Jail ever since. His bail was $1 million.

After crashing near I-80, Henry ran from his stolen vehicle, but Illinois State Police dogs bit him several times, leading to his capture. Henry was driving a stolen vehicle that was taken during a Chicago carjacking, Illinois State Police said.
Henry had a gun at the time he stole the senior citizen's Volkswagon Jetta.

As a result of Friday's verdict, Henry was found guilty of the following crimes:
- 5 counts of aggravated vehicular highjacking
- 2 counts of armed robbery
- 1 count of unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle
- 2 counts of theft
- 1 count of felon in a possession of a gun
- 1 count of aggravated fleeing the police
- 1 count of striking a police animal
Henry's sentencing before Judge Bertani-Tomczak is likely several months away.
