Cass Street Bridge in Joliet Reopens

JOLIET, IL — The Cass Street bridge has reopened.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the reopening Wednesday. A full closure of the bridge began July 18 for a painting and cleaning project. It was scheduled to be closed until the fall.

The project included cleaning and repainting the steel bridge to protect from deterioration. The bridge was painted at and below the roadway.
