'Chief Al' Elf Infiltrates Joliet's Police Station
Should the menacing elf be arrested for criminal trespassing?

JOLIET, IL - The new chief of police at the Joliet Police Department has been turning heads this past week and probably leaving some of his colleagues scared out of their wits. Chief Al Roechner has been popping up in strange locations around the downtown police station. He's taken on the persona of 'Chief Al' as in Chief Al Elf on the Shelf.
The Joliet Police Department Facebook page, which tops 20,000 followers, declared on Monday: "HOLIDAY SHENANIGANS: Over the next several weeks, help us locate this wanted elf, who goes by the moniker of 'Chief Al.' He is wanted on local charges of mischief and escape ... We will post more surveillance photos and information as it becomes available."
Joliet Police have posted regular updates throughout this week on its Facebook page. The photos and captions show Chief Al/Elfie in odd locations across the building. For the record, the Chief Al Elf on the Shelf has yet to appear in any of the Joliet Patch's daily Will County Jail blotters that are enormously popular reads, but that may have to change.
