City Councilman Not Seeking Third Term: Report

Gerl previously was a long-time member of the Will County Board.

JOLIET, IL - A member of the Joliet City Council since April 2011 will not be running for a third term of office. John Gerl plans to make an announcement at this week's meeting of the Joliet City Council, according to WJOL news radio 1340.

According to his bio on the city website, Gerl graduated from Joliet West in 1981 and from Lewis University in 1995. He served on the Will County Board from 1996 through 2006. He also works for the Forest Preserve District of Will County as its director of finance and administration.

He also attends St. Ray's Church in Joliet.

"Joliet has a wonderful public school system, along with many quality parochial and private school options to choose from.
