Vandalism At New Channahon Fire Station Site

CHANNAHON, IL — The Channahon Police Department wants to generate more attention surrounding a recent construction site vandalism within the site of the new Channahon Fire Protection District Station No. 2 at 23370 South Thomas Dillon Drive.
The fire house damage estimates to this point are in excess of $10,000 and "certainly, we expect that to go much higher, however, we're still waiting on some estimates from some different parties involved when it comes to the costs of the damage that was incurred," Channahon Deputy Police Chief Adam Bogart notified Patch. "
The crime was discovered back on May 17, around 6 a.m.

According to Tuesday's press release, the criminal damage to property incident was consistent with someone who would have industry knowledge of this type of construction and the materials being used.
Deputy police chief Craig Gunty said the Channahon Police Department remains committed to conducting a comprehensive investigation of the crime, and police will continue to work with the Channahon Fire district to assess all the damage.
