JOLIET, IL — A 39-year-old man who has served prison time for dealing heroin, cocaine and promoting prostitution around Joliet now faces more drug charges. On Wednesday, the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow charged Ivan Davis with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, obstructing justice and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude an officer.

On Tuesday, Davis was driving a Buick on New Lenox Road and when Joliet Police tried to pull him over, he "increased his speed and such attempt to elude was at a rate of speed at least 21 mph over the legal speed limit," his criminal complaint states.

Davis was also charged with obstructing justice because he "knowingly concealed physical evidence, to wit: (he) discarded cocaine over a fence," court documents state.

The Illinois Department of Corrections notified Will County officials last May when Davis was being released from the prison in East Moline. He served a five-year sentence in connection with distributing heroin and cocaine around Joliet in March of 2017.

Will County court records also reflect that Davis was convicted in 2014 of the felony offense of promoting prostitution, otherwise known as pimping.

Between June 1, 2014 and July 17, 2014, Joliet Police determined that Davis "knowingly advanced prostitution in that (Davis) rented a hotel room" at the Rodeway Inn in the 1700 block of McDonough Street, the criminal complaint stated.
