JOLIET, IL — A 33-year-old Cicero has been charged with stealing several hundred dollars worth of copper wire spools from the Joliet Menards store on West Jefferson Street. A Joliet Police Department investigation led to the filing of two criminal charges against Rolando Villa, who has not been taken into custody as of March 8.

According to the criminal complaint, Villa is charged with two counts of felony retail theft. The complaint claims Villa stole spools of copper wire from the Joliet business on Jan. 25.

Once Villa is captured and taken into custody, Will County prosecutors plan "to seek an enhanced Class 4 sentence based upon the defendant's prior conviction for residential burglary in Cook County," court records show.
