Cops Found Sex Tapes of Joliet Reporter's Gal Pal During Search For Kiddie Porn: Prosecutor

The girlfriend of a Joliet newspaper reporter facing federal child pornography charges starred in a sex tape with two apparent teens, according to a recent court filing.

Margarita Hernandez, the 35-year-old live-in lover of 78-year-old community newsman John Gabriel, has a sex case of her own. She was charged in 2012 with aggravated criminal sexual abuse for allegedly having sex with a teenage boy.

In a recent court filing, prosecutors identified Gabriel as Hernandez’s “roommate lover, partner, or some combination thereof,” and said her sex videos were found during a probe of “possible child pornography.”

“The search warrant was to find evidence of the possible child pornography referenced in the sexual grooming emails, not to find evidence of this defendant,” the court papers said.

But during the search, police found “video of (Hernandez) having sex with two different adolescents who appear to be possibly under the age of 18,” the filing said.

Gabriel was jailed on federal child pornography charges a year after Hernandez was arrested. Prosecutors recently revealed that Gabriel allegedly created an elaborate “fantasy world based in religion” in order to dupe an underage girl into posing for sex pictures he posted on a website in hopes of enticing “young boys to have sex with” her.
