Crack Cocaine Dealer Captured Near Collins Street: JPD

JOLIET — A 40-year-old Joliet man who lives at the Star Inn Motel at 2219 1/2 W. Jefferson St. was arrested this week on the east side of the city, on five counts of delivery of controlled substances.

Joliet police later let Lane Seymour go free, because his felony drug-dealing charges are not detainable offenses under the Illinois SAFE-T-Act.

"Following an investigation conducted by the Joliet Police Department Narcotics Unit that lasted numerous months, Seymour was identified as a suspect involved in the sale of crack cocaine," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said.

At 3:47 p.m. on Monday, the officers placed Seymour into custody without incident after locating him near Collins Street and Catalpa Street. Seymour was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on his Notice to Appear.
