Crash On Broadway, Victim Critical, Driver Has No License: JPD
Joliet police say both vehicles in the crash came to a rest in the southbound lanes of North Broadway Street. Four people were hospitalized.

JOLIET, IL — A 39-year-old Joliet man who has no driver's license was arrested on felony DUI charges following a wreck along Joliet's busy Broadway Street that sent his 56-year-old female passenger to St. Joe's in critical condition, Joliet police announced.
Three people in the other car that Oscar Muniz-Hernandez crashed into were also sent to the hospital, Joliet police advised.
This week, Muniz-Hernandez received his Will County Notice to Appear in court for charges including: Aggravated DUI – Accident Causing Great Bodily Harm, Aggravated DUI – No Valid Driver’s License, and DUI.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the wreck injuring four people happened Sunday around 8:45 p.m.

- The crash with injuries happened in the 1500 block of North Broadway.
- Muniz-Hernandez was driving northbound on North Broadway Street in a Saab 92 when he turned left toward a business parking lot. He collided into a Honda Accord driven by a 22-year-old Joliet man who was southbound on North Broadway Street.
- Both vehicles came to a rest in the southbound lanes of North Broadway Street.
- A 56-year-old woman in Muniz-Hernandez’s vehicle was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in critical condition.
- The driver of the Honda Accord, as well as his two passengers, a 36-year-old woman and 23-year-old woman, also were taken to Ascension St. Joe's for injuries from the crash.
- While speaking with officers, Muniz-Hernandez exhibited behaviors consistent with alcohol impairment.
- Muniz-Hernandez completed field sobriety tests and he was placed into custody without incident and transported to the Joliet Police Department. Muniz-Hernandez. The Joliet man was also cited for driving too fast for conditions, improper turn and no valid driver’s license.
