Boy, 16, Killed In Shooting Identified As Tennessee Teen

Crest Hill police are seeking the community's help in hopes of solving Monday night's killing.

CREST HILL, IL — A 16-year-old boy was killed Monday night in a shooting in the 1700 block of Arbor Lane in Crest Hill. Around 6 p.m., Crest Hill police officers responded to a 911 call involving several shots fired. Paramedics responded to the emergency, but the shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Police Chief Ed Clark.

The Will County Coroner's office identified the teen as Trayvon C. Fraizer of Jackson, Tennessee.

Crest Hill said the Will County Crime Scene Investigation unit processed the scene and the Will/Grundy Major Crimes Task Force is assisting in the homicide investigation.

No arrests have been made.

“This is a very active investigation, and we will provide more details as this investigation progresses,” Clark said in Tuesday's news release.

"We are making progress in the case," Clark told Joliet Patch on Tuesday afternoon. "It's an isolated incident. It's not anything that's considered a random of act violence."

Patch asked Clark if detectives had a suspect or a description of a getaway vehicle. "We're interviewing witnesses and still conducting a lot of interviews," Clark said. "It is developing nicely."
