Crest Hill TJ Maxx to Close; Romeoville Store Under Construction
The company opted not to renew its lease at the Larkin Avenue store.
A new T.J. Maxx store is slated to open later this year in Romeoville, and the company's Crest Hill location will close.
Crest Hill City Administrator John Tomasoski told the Times Weekly that the retailer did not renew its lease with the owners of the shopping center at its current location, 1701 Larkin Ave.
A 22,000-square-foot T.J. Maxx is currently under construction near Airport and Weber roads in Romeoville in the Shops of Romeoville development. The retailer's new location, expected to bring about 40 jobs to the village, is being built adjacent to the former OfficeMax store.
Other new businesses coming to the shopping center include a Chipotle Mexican Grill, Dunkin Donuts and Sleepy's mattress store. The new businesses will join existing retailers including Target and Kohl's.
Across the street, a Goodwill store is also slated to be built next to Aldi at Airport and Weber.
