CREST HILL — Crucial Cuts Barber Lounge held its grand opening event Thursday with food from the grill, pizza, refreshments and a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Crest Hill Mayor Ray Soliman.

“I always dreamed of opening up my own shop,” said Allen, owner of Crucial Cuts Barber Lounge. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been around a barber shop. My parents were both in the hair industry for many years, and I always wanted to get into the family business. I grew up not too far from here and I look forward to being a valued member of the Crest Hill community."

Allen said he has been cutting hair for 13 years and has a ton of experience in the industry. He previously worked at The Lux barber shop in Plainfield, before opening up Crucial Cuts.
