JOLIET, IL — Around 9:20 p.m., Crest Hill announced it was putting an emergency curfew into effect until 6 a.m. Unlike Joliet, Crest Hill initially decided not to impose an 8 p.m. for Tuesday.

"The decision resulted from the protesting, damage to property and attempted looting in our surrounding area last night," Crest Hill announced Tuesday evening.

The city of Joliet curfew will remain in effect starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2 because of the multiple acts of vandalism and violence that occurred Sunday night.
