DANGEROUS COLD: Joliet Park District Canceling Several Events, But Not Everything

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Park District made the following announcement on Facebook Thursday afternoon:

"Due to the forecasted severe low temperatures and dangerously high winds associated with the Arctic Blast expected in our area, the following programs will be canceled tomorrow, Friday, January 23:

• Kathy Green Multipurpose Center: Facility Closed
• Sunshine and Rainbows Preschool Canceled
• All Specialty Classes Canceled
• Dance Classes Canceled
• Baby Bees, Tumble Bees, Bustling Bees Canceled
• Flip Squad and Kipper Canceled
• Adult Co-ed Volleyball Canceled
• SRJC Connections Program Canceled
• Nowell Park Recreation Center: Facility Open 8a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Youth Programming Canceled
• Pilcher Park Nature Center: Facility Open 9a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Little Sprouts Canceled
• Inwood Athletic Club: Facility Open 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Please note pool will not open until 5 p.m.
