A new book on Slovenian communities around the world has just been published in English. Daring Dreams of the Future: Slovenian Mass Migrations 1870–1945, tells how nearly a half million Slovenians left their homeland to build new lives for themselves and their families and create Slovenian cultural scenes wherever they settled.
Dr. Mirjam Milharčič Hladnik, is speaking across the U. S. to present this new book on Slovenians. She is one of Slovenia’s leading researchers about Slovenian-Americans and their achievements. The stories she shares are of interest to anyone who wants to learn more about why so many European emigrants chose to leave their homeland and establish themselves in this country.
