'Another Liquor Store On Jefferson Street?' Asks Nelson Jewelry
Joliet's City Council will vote Tuesday night on a proposed liquor license for Angie's Liquors, 1308 West Jefferson St.

JOLIET, IL —One of Joliet's most notable businesses along West Jefferson Street, David Nelson Exquisite Jewelry, is not happy to learn that city of Joliet officials are recommending approval for a new liquor store to open next door to his long-time store.
The proposed business at 1308 West Jefferson St. would be called Angie's Liquors. Joliet's City Council is expected to decide at Tuesday's 6:30 p.m. meeting whether to grant a Class C license for packaged liquor sales license to Ivan Torrijos.
The proposed liquor store had been a hair salon and office. As for Torrijos, he has no prior history involving the sale of alcohol, city documents show.
