JOLIET, IL - The Illinois State Police issued a press bulletin on Tuesday afternoon announcing that the dead body found floating in the Des Plaines River on Monday morning near the Brandon Road Locks and Dam has been identified as 33-year-old Joliet resident Aikeem Kimble.

Kimble's body was retrieved from the water around 8:15 a.m. on July 1.

"We are asking for any information that may assist in this investigation. If anyone had seen or had contact with Kimble within the 48 hours prior to 6 a.m. Monday morning, July 1, 2019, please contact the Illinois State Police District 5 at (815)726-6377 and speak with Trooper Messer.

"This matter is an ongoing death investigation and no further information is available at this time," the Illinois State Police announced.
