Dead Man Discovered Near Calderon Liquors Store
A patrol officer found the man dead in the 700 block of Collins Street.

JOLIET, IL - Joliet's Deputy Chief of Police Ed Gregory said there is nothing suspicious about the death of a 60-year-old man who was found dead early Monday outside of Calderon Liquors in the 700 block of Collins Street. Joliet police investigators have reviewed video surveillance cameras from area businesses and the incident was captured on videotape, police said. The man apparently rode up to Calderon's around midnight and then sat down outside the business. From the distance, it looked like he was just sleeping but this was not the case at all.
A Joliet police officer on regular patrol found the man slumped over and realized he was dead. The man may have died of natural causes or had a medical condition, but this was not a murder, police said. An autopsy is scheduled to take place and the man's identity was being withheld until his family can be notified of his passing, according to the Joliet radio station's report.
