Deadly Head-On Crash On Caton Farm Road: Shorewood Man, 25, Dies
Joliet police were sent to the area of Caton Farm Road east of Von Esch Road for a multiple-vehicle crash that involved a fatality.

JOLIET, IL — A 25-year-old Shorewood resident died Monday morning in a head-on crash that left several people injured along Caton Farm Road, just east of Von Esch Road, according to Joliet's Police Department.
The Will County Coroner's Office of Laurie Summers identified the crash victim as Shorewood passenger, Charles A. Hunter Jr.
The deadly collision happened around 8 a.m.

According to Joliet Police Spokesman Dwayne English, the following events happened:
- A Chevrolet Sonic driven by a 26-year-old Plainfield woman, accompanied by Hunter, her 25-year-old male passenger, was going west on Caton Farm approaching Von Esch Road in the inside lane of the four-lane road.
- The woman's Chevrolet Sonic veered into the eastbound lanes of Caton Farm Road and collided head-on with a GMC Arcadia driven by a 43-year-0ld Joliet woman, who had a 10-year-old girl as her passenger.
- The Chevrolet Sonic then collided head-on with a second car, a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by a 26-year-old Plainfield woman. The woman driving the Hyundai was heading eastbound on Caton Farm Road in the outside lane.
- The young woman and man in the Chevrolet Sonic were rushed to St. Joe's hospital with critical injuries, and the 25-year-old Shorewood man died at the hospital.
- The driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe was also taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center with minor injuries.
- The people in the GMC Arcadia refused medical assistance at the scene.
