Dennis 'Denny' Davis

Loving family man, devoted sports fan, and Harley enthusiast

Dennis “Denny” Davis

Age 71, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice House on Thursday, April 25th, 2024. A loving husband, father, and “pappy”, he was surrounded by his family, and wrapped in love, comfort, and grace. Denny was kind and quick-witted, and his laughter and smile will forever be missed.

Denny was born and raised in Oak Ridge, TN by his adoring parents. He attended Oliver Springs High School, where he played basketball, and graduated in 1971. The next year, he moved to Braidwood, IL, beginning his career as a Chemical Process Technician. Denny was a dedicated and steadfast employee of LyondellBasell Industries, where he retired after 25 years.

Denny was stubborn in pursuit of his goals, morals, values, and beliefs; however, he always considered his family as his greatest joy and accomplishment. Denny devoted his life to his wife, Cheryl and daughter, Kristina. Denny and Cheryl were married in 1986, in Joliet, IL, where they grew in love each passing year, building a home in each other. Their missing piece was born in 1990, beginning a lifetime of loyalty and adventure as a family. Often a stoic man, Denny exuded unmatched adoration for his grandchildren, who brought even more light to an already overflowing heart. A man of few words, his family knew his love to be constant and reliable.
