JOLIET, IL — The Catholic Diocese of Joliet announced it has changed its school mask policy from mask required to mask recommended effective Tuesday.

Parents will be asked to sign a mask use form indicating whether their child will wear a mask in school. The forms must be submitted to the respective Catholic schools by Friday.

The mask recommended policy will also apply to staff, the diocese announced. The mask recommended guidance applies to the more than 40 Catholic schools in the diocese, as well as youth religious education programs.
