District 86 Students Win First Place in Joliet Fire Department Contest

Four Joliet Public Schools District 86 Students Receive First Place Awards

Congratulations to the four Joliet Public Schools District 86 students who were first winners in the 2022 Joliet Fire Department Fire Safety Poster Contest. This year’s theme was “Fire Won’t Wait. Plan Your Escape.” The student winners, parents, and teachers were recognized at the Exchange Club Firefighter of the Year luncheon at the Jacob Henry Mansion.

District 86 student first place winners were: 1st Grade: Alexis Resendes, Carl Sandburg Elementary, teacher: Irene Kratcisin; 2nd Grade: Stephania Diaz, Edna Keith Elementary, teacher: Tameka Gadlen; 3rd Grade: Tre Youngman, Pershing Elementary, teacher: Kathryn Hackney; and 5th Grade: Jackeline Barba, Eisenhower Academy, teacher: Jillian Herbert.

Over 400 posters were submitted from local schools for the annual contest.
