Disturbance At Elite Staffing Leads To Joliet Police Arrest

When Joliet police asked Travis Mydler to leave the business, he grew angry and approached them in a threatening manner, arrest logs show.

JOLIET, IL — A 24-year-old Joliet man from the 400 block of North Center Street was all smiles after being booked in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say he kicked an officer in the leg during a disturbance at the Elite Staffing agency, 301 East Cass St.

The incident that resulted in Travis Mydler facing felony charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery to a police officer happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

  • Officers encountered Mydler, who appeared to be intoxicated at the Elite Staffing.
  • After Joliet police asked Mydler to leave the business, he grew angry and approached them threateningly, so officers put him in handcuffs.
  • While the officers walked Mydler toward the squad, he began to tense up and pull away, and he then kicked an officer in the leg.
  • Mydler was taken to the Joliet Police Department for processing and then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Bail for Mydler was set at $15,000. He remains in custody, unable to post the necessary 10 percent to regain his freedom while awaiting trial.
