Donut Den Owner Bruce Aronson Dies At 63

JOLIET, IL — One of Joliet's favorite bakeries, Donut Den located on Theodore Street, announced on social media that longtime owner Bruce Aronson has died. He was 63.

Aronson lived in Shorewood. He died last week at St. Joe's hospital.

"He was a great boss, an even better friend and most importantly family," Donut Den posted on Facebook. "He was taken from us too soon, but will never be forgotten."

Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home in Naperville is handling the funeral services.

According to his obituary, Aronson grew up in Arlington Heights, was a 1976 graduate of Arlington High School and attended college in Topeka, Kansas. He worked at his family's businesses, The Arlington Cake Box in Arlington Heights and The Tasty Bakery in Naperville, with his brother, Earle and later worked at Dominick's Finer Foods in Naperville and also as a realtor.

"He loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs," his obituary noted.
