Door Broken Down At Lois Place, Woman Choked, Punched In Face: JPD
Antonio Franklin's violence caused the woman to be taken to the St. Joe's hospital by Joliet Fire Department ambulance, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A 24-year-old Joliet man from the 400 block of North Bluff Street is now in the Will County Jail facing a $10,000 bail after Joliet police say Antonio Franklin attacked a woman at the Lois Place apartments, hitting her in the face and choking her throat while she was already on the ground.
Franklin's arrest happened around 8:45 p.m. Saturday. Now he faces charges of aggravated domestic battery, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, battery, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and having an outstanding arrest for his arrest.

- Officers learned that Franklin used force to enter the woman's apartment, where he began causing a disturbance.
- During an argument, Franklin pushed the victim, punched her in the face, and then choked her while she was on the ground. When two of her roommates tried to stop him, Franklin punched one of them in the face as well.
- Franklin then left the Lois Place apartment, only to return several minutes later, breaking down the apartment door. When Joliet police arrived, Franklin put up a struggle, but officers managed to arrest him.
- Franklin had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on previous charges.
- The woman Franklin initially attacked was taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
