JOLIET, IL - On Wednesday, the Jefferson Street Bridge, which had been closed since early July as part of an extensive repair project spearheaded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, reopened to traffic. Motorists no longer will be forced to use other bridges to make their way to Joliet's downtown from the city's west side.
