Driver On Fentanyl Falls Asleep At Thorntons On Collins St: JPD
Amanda Salois, 24, was sound asleep at one of the Thorntons gas pumps early Tuesday morning, Joliet police advised.

JOLIET, IL — A 24-year-old woman is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police found the fentanyl user asleep behind the driver's wheel of her car at the gas pump for the Thorntons gas station on Collins Street, Joliet police announced.
Amanda Salois was arrested by Joliet police on charges of DUI-Drugs and possession of a controlled substance. Officers did a welfare check at the Thorntons gas station, 400 Collins Street, around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday "after locating a female driver that appeared to be asleep at the wheel of a vehicle parked at a gas pump," police reports show.
Officers identified the driver as Salois after waking her, and she was told to exit her car.

"While speaking with Officers, Salois indicated that she possessed cocaine," police spokesman Dwayne English said.
Joliet police searched Salois and found a bag of white powder in her coat pocket, English said.

"It would later be determined that the powder contained fentanyl and officers learned that Salois had used the substance prior to driving," English stated.
Salois was placed into custody without incident and the vehicle was towed. Joliet police listed her as being a city resident, while Will County Jail records had Salois living on Edison Lane in the village of Plainfield.
She remained in the Will County Jail on Wednesday, unable to post 10 percent of her $10,000 bail
