Driver Killed On Jefferson Street, Hit-And-Run Motorist At Large
The victim was pronounced dead around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office announced that a 60-year-old Joliet man was killed early Sunday following a violent collision on West Jefferson Street. Coroner's officials identified the victim as Suos Khloth.
The crash happened at West Jefferson Street and Redwood Drive. A hit and run driver is believed to have caused the collision and that person had not been taken into custody as of Sunday night, Crest Hill Police told Patch.
The coroner's office reported that Khloth's vehicle struck another vehicle and then hit a fixed object. He was pronounced dead around 2:30 a.m. at St. Joe's hospital emergency room.

Even though the fatality happened in Joliet, the coroner's office said that Crest Hill Police and Will County Sheriff's Office are handling the crash.
One reader contacted Patch on Sunday afternoon indicating that a friend and the friend's uncle were heading home to Joliet from Shorewood and their vehicle was struck on Jefferson Street and forced into a tree as the result of stolen car high-speed police pursuit.

In addition to the fatality, the passenger in Khloth's vehicle suffered a broken shoulder and was being hospitalized at St. Joe's, the reader told Patch.
Around 7:30 p.m., Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark told Patch that the incident began around 1 a.m. in Crest Hill when a vehicle fled a Crest Hill police officer near the intersection of Theodore Street and Edgerton Drive.
"We are still investigating, and we are still looking for the driver," Clark told Patch Sunday night, adding that he may have additional information to release on Monday.
