JOLIET, IL —The Joliet City Council is being asked to approve a drive-thru permit for a proposed Dunkin' restaurant at an empty lot in the city's Cathedral Area. Developers want to build the Dunkin' restaurant at 800 N. Raynor Ave.

Joliet's public works division received a request for the drive-thru on May 29, according to city records. Interim city manager Steve Jones told Joliet Patch that the property is the vacant lot at the Six Corners intersection, near the Thayers Brothers Deli restaurant.

"Access to the site will be available from a right-in only driveway off of Ruby Street and a full access driveway off of Raynor Avenue," city documents show. "Upon final investigation, the Department of Public Works has determined that there is sufficient storage on site, and therefore recommends approval of the drive thru permit subject to approval of the final engineering plans."
