Earnhardt Puts on Show to Plug Joliet NASCAR Weekend
Earnhardt and all of the other top drivers will be competing in the Geico 400 at Chicagoland Speedway on Sept. 15.

The racetrack might be in Joliet but the burnout performed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. was in front of the Chicago Theatre Monday -- a publicity event to draw attention to the Geico 400 at Joliet's Chicagoland Speedway on Sept. 15.
Earnhardt, who's currently ranked sixth in points, also met with fans in Chicago's Millennium Park.
The Joliet race is the first in the drive for the Sprint Cup. And race weekend in Joliet also features the qualifying event and the Camping World Truck Series race on Sept. 13 and the Dollar General 300 on Sept. 14.
“Chicago is a great town with great fans. It’s fun for us to get out there and do something different, so to put a Cup car on State Street made for a cool day,” said Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No. 88 National Guard ride for Hendrick Motorsports. “We appreciate everyone coming out to see us and we’re looking forward to putting on another great show in September.”
