Felony Arrest Made On Great Falls Drive By Joliet Police

Joliet police hauled away Nickolaus Newcomer in handcuffs, charging him with aggravated domestic battery and obstructing a peace officer.

JOLIET, IL — A 20-year-old Plainfield area man remains in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say he attacked a 17-year-old boy inside his house and tried to choke him.

Joliet police hauled away Nickolaus Newcomer in handcuffs, charging him with aggravated domestic battery and obstructing a peace officer. Newcomer lives in the 1800 block of Great Falls Drive, in the Cumberland subdivision.

Around 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to Great Falls Drive for a domestic disturbance. Officers determined that during an argument, Newcomer struck the 17-year-old with his fist and attempted to choke him.

While Joliet police tried to arrest Newcomer, he ran away, according to police. As officers searched the subdivision for Newcomer, he eventually returned to the residence and was placed into custody without further incident, authorities said.

Newcomer was scheduled to appear before a Will County judge on Thursday for a bail hearing.
