Fiday Road Wreck: Man, 43, Suffers Serious Injuries

JOLIET, IL — A 43-year-old Joliet man suffered life-threatening injuries Monday afternoon when his car slammed into the concrete sound wall along Interstate 55.

Joliet Police's Dwayne English issued a press release Monday evening explaining that the one-car wreck happened around 3:30 p.m. at Fiday Road and the Northeast Frontage Road.

The Joliet man's Honda Civic was westbound on Fiday Road approaching Northeast Frontage Road when it continued through the intersection. The vehicle came to a stop after colliding with the concrete sound wall along Interstate 55.

The crash victim was extricated and rushed to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by a Joliet Fire Department ambulance, English said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Joliet Police Department Traffic Division.
