Fire On Joliet's East Side At Ohio Street Property
Joliet Fire Department crews from Station 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8 were on scene for about one hour.

JOLIET, IL —Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Paul Yanak issued a press release revealing that Friday's late afternoon fire on the east side of town took about an hour for firefighters to completely extinguish.
Yanak said that crews from Station 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8 responded at 4:25 p.m. to 406 Ohio St. for a detached garage on fire.
The first units arrived within three minutes of the emergency. The crews found heavy smoke and flames showing from the garage. The garage was used for storage for a nearby store. Responding crews were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes. The structure had extensive damage. The scene was declared under control at 4:50 pm., Yanak pointed out.

There were no injuries reported during the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
