Fire On Joliet's West Side Scene Declared Under Control: JFD

Fire crews from Joliet Fire Stations 6, 7, 8 and 9 were on the scene. The fire is under investigation.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Ryan issued a press release in regard to Tuesday afternoon's house fire on the city's west side near Pandola Avenue and Essington Road. The fire happened at 1425 Voyage Drive.

At 12:23 p.m., the Joliet Fire Department responded to the structure fire with smoke and flames showing. The first units arrived within six minutes of the call. Ryan said that Joliet firefighters found smoke and fire on coming from a detached garage that was spreading to the roof and the first floor of a single-family residence. Residents were out of the structure and crews stopped the fire with damage limited to back porch and attic with water damage to the interior.

The scene was declared under control at 1 p.m. Fire crews from Joliet Fire Stations 6, 7, 8 and 9 were on the scene. The fire's cause remains under investigation.
