Fire On Reed Street Draws Response From 4 Joliet Fire Stations

Fire crews from Joliet Fire Stations 1, 5, 6, and 8 were on scene and had the fire under control at 5 p.m.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Nick Carbaugh announced that a structure fire happened late Monday afternoon in the 400 block of South Reed Street.

According to Carbaugh, at 4:42 p.m., the Joliet Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 411 South Reed with smoke in a detached garage and flames showing. The first units arrived within four minutes of the call. Crews found a fully involved detached garage fire.

Responding crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent exposure to neighboring buildings, according to the battalion chief.

The scene was declared under control at 5 p.m. There were no injuries. Fire crews from Joliet Fire Stations 1, 5, 6, and 8 were on scene. The fire is currently under investigation, he noted.
